- CV.TV On CTV Toronto's Consumer Alert - Video Resumes: Get Seen, Get Hired!
CTV Toronto's Pat Foran reported on CV.TV’s exclusive and innovate Online Video Resume System on Consumer Alert. Resumes can get lost in a pile of paper, so some job-seekers are hoping a video can help them get noticed. David Rosenblatt of Canadian Immigration law firm Rosenblatt Associates believes Video Resumes make a difference in searching for a job. “Candidates have to spend more and more time working at getting a job and this gives them an opportunity to get seen extensively.” Job-seeker Revital Shuster made a Video Resume and was quite pleased with her results. “It’s very informative and [employers] get to hear about me from me instead of through a paper,” she said. Monster.com, one of Canada’s leading online job boards, is on the same page when it comes to using videos as a job-finding tool. It believes the video profile is the wave of the future. “A tighter labour market is making it more and more difficult so you’ve got to give yourself that competitive edge,” said Sheryl Boswell, Monster's Marketing Manager. “It’s no longer that employers can just sit back and wait for candidates to come to them. They need to seek them out.” 8/1/2008
