Canadian Occupation & PNP Matrix

Search occupations that appear in current or recently published federal categories, provincial priority lists, sector initiatives and occupation-driven pathways. Scan across the row to see which programs deserve a closer review.

How to use this matrix: A checkmark means the occupation appears in, or aligns with, a published occupation/sector priority used by that jurisdiction. It does not mean the occupation is always eligible or that a stream is currently accepting applications. Employer-driven streams may accept many occupations not listed here.

Sources and interpretation: Federal categories are based on IRCC category-based selection. Provincial indicators summarize published occupation lists, sector priorities and recent targeted selection; they are a research starting point, not a legal determination. Wage benchmarks should be confirmed for the exact NOC and region using the Government of Canada Job Bank before relying on them.
Read the row carefully

An occupation listing is not an eligibility decision.

Immigration programs classify work by duties and NOC, not by job title alone. A candidate may need a qualifying job offer, provincial connection, licensing, language results, settlement funds, Canadian status or recent experience in the listed occupation.

Where a province runs broad employer-driven streams, an occupation can still qualify even without a checkmark. Conversely, a checkmark does not override exclusions, caps, intake pauses or draw-specific conditions.
